Dr. Stocks is President of Stocks Surgical Center and former president of Carolina Thermascan. Dr. Stocks received his B.S. in Pharmacy and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Marquette University and his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his residency at Duke University Medical Center. While a resident at Duke, he was involved with clinical trials and started the first solid tumor cancer clinic for the treatment of breast cancer patients.Dr. Stocks is Board Certified by the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. His special interests include laparoscopy and breast disease. His interest and passion for breast cancer treatment has continued and his breast expertise has allowed him to be the principle investigator in two international studies. Dr. Stocks was the first surgeon to perform laparoscopic surgery, stereotactic breast biopsies and lung volume reductions in Wake County.
